After our compatriots have had varying degrees of success in experiencing changes and innovations in the real estate market, housing itself has continued to be quite expensive.
Most Ukrainians can not afford to buy housing. This is due to the fact that the majority of our fellow citizens are trying to meet certain basic needs and only then can you think about improving your living conditions. Naturally, the lives of our citizens in the last year has not improved qualitatively, but the windows / still install, and do the repairs.
So, according to the latest official data from the State Statistics Service, the average salary has fallen by more than 4 percent, averaging 3.3 thousand hryvnias. Half of our compatriots can not count on a salary higher than 2.5 thousand hryvnia. But the cost of a one-bedroom apartment in our country is about 46.4 thousand U.S. dollars, so the cost per square meter of housing is in the range 1.25 thousand U.S. dollars. The second problem on the way to purchase their own real estate – high mortgage rates. On average they are in the range of 23 percent, while the average Ukrainian can save a month not more than 488 hryvnia.
Consequently, to buy a home for the average Ukrainian requires about 63 years, and that only if the economy in the country is stable. If I save my entire salary for my house, without spending it on other goods, food, clothes, I will have to save for about 8 years. And no matter what slump wasn’t observed in the real estate market, whatever innovations didn’t initiated by the Ukrainian government, but buying a home continues to be the privilege only of the rich.
