Decorative plaster has decorated our homes for thousands of years. There are several types of decorative plaster wall decoration, and one of the most common and most beautiful is Venetian plaster. A unique combination of modern organic components: marble or granite chips with an acrylic binder. The technology of application is very simple, and the plaster itself is a natural looking and easy to use material. Venetian plaster can be applied in different ways, but worthy of attention is only one, the easiest and most accessible.
The main condition when applying this material, the wall must be perfectly flat and dry. If necessary, then you can cover the surface with a special primer, which is designed for plaster. It is better to begin to apply with a small trowel, and when the hand gets accustomed to it, then you can use a large spatula. The first layer should be distributed perfectly flat, avoiding flat lines. It is necessary to avoid unevenness or the appearance of transitions between the strokes. If under the first coat after drying the wall is seen after the second or third coat, the wall will not be visible.
When choosing colors, be aware that the material can change its hue. After applying the first layer, it is necessary to wait for the plaster to dry within 1-3 hours. If there are any irregularities left after drying, it is better to scrape them off with a spatula. You should not use sandpaper, because it will create dust, as well as if you use sandpaper improperly, you can remove excess and “get” to the priming layer. Subsequent layers must be applied as well as the first one. Keep a bucket of water nearby and periodically rinse the spatula in it. Following all the recommendations, you can achieve a beautiful end result and the interior of the apartment or house will be simply irresistible.
