Shavkat Mirziyoyev won the 2016 elections with a huge margin: he received 88.61% of the votes. During early elections in 2023 related to amendments to the constitution, he received slightly less, 87.05% of the votes. This speaks about a simple thing: the Uzbek president enjoys enormous popularity and the trust of the people. It must be admitted that he did a lot for the country, and it would take several hours to fully list the list of reforms. Let’s take a look at the life of the president himself.
Technology and Internet
Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s predecessor, Islam Karimov, was a very closed and conservative person. The current head of state welcomes new technologies. He remembers that it is difficult to get an appointment with the president himself, so he organized a virtual reception. Any Uzbek citizen can write an appeal to it and personally speak with the leader of the state. This accelerated the solution of many public problems and significantly increased the presidential rating.
The matter is not limited to the virtual reception area. The president has his own website (where she is located), where he posts important news and simply addresses the people. Moreover, there is even a profile on Linkedin!
Origins of the Mirziyoyev family
Meanwhile, a progressive president comes from an old and traditional family. Most of it lives in the village of Yakhtan. The grandfather of the state leader, Mirziye Mirziyoyev, was born there. In addition to Mirziyeh himself, the family had four children. And the venerable Uzbek had two sons: Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s father Miromon and his brother Mirasror. And yes, naming sons “mir” is a long-standing family tradition.
On his mother’s side, the president also comes from an old Uzbek family.
A little about the president
By education, Shavkat Mirziyoyev is a mechanical engineer. I received my specialty in Tashkent. There he met his future wife, Ziroatkhon Khoshimova. Her relatives were initially against the marriage, and now the couple has three children and five grandchildren.
The leader of the state is not just a politician, he is a scientist. After finishing his studies in Tashkent, he worked for a long time as a research assistant. But I received my Candidate of Technical Sciences degree very quickly.
Until the death of Islam Karimov in 2016, Mirziyoyev was prime minister (since 2003). The old president favored him, but their views on the ideal policy for Uzbekistan differ radically.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev is the owner of many outstanding awards and orders. Unlike some unscrupulous leaders, he does not assign anything to himself. Each order is fully deserved.
