Modern security system must be equipped with a complex of video surveillance. Such systems are currently used everywhere, and it is difficult to find an enterprise or office that is not equipped with them.
The history of video surveillance systems dates back to 1913, when a British prison was used to secretly photograph inmates in order to place the photos in a personal file. Of course, these activities cannot be called video surveillance – but it was with them that the practice of using photo-video equipment for security purposes began. The first surveillance system with cameras was the complex used by Germany to test the FAU-2 rocket. Walter Bruch designed it, and in the sixties he developed the PAL system, which is still in use today all over the world.
If we talk about public video monitoring systems, the pioneer in them was a commercial system “Vericon”, manufactured and produced in the U.S. The advantage of this system was that no approval from the authorities was required because the signal was transmitted by wire, not by radio waves. In 1956, Germany performed the first tests of the “Zauberspiegel” system, which allowed for remote monitoring of traffic and changing traffic light conditions.
These four momentous events preceded the mass market entry and widespread use of modern video surveillance systems.
A large number of companies are engaged in the production of CCTV cameras around the world, both as a set, and on individual components – the company can produce a CCTV monitor, or camera, or brackets and other devices.
There are many types of video cameras, here are some of them:
Modular
Mini
Corpus
Dome
Managed
Gyrostabilized
According to the type of camera can be divided into analog and digital – the difference in the type of output signal, as well as wired and wireless – the method of data transmission.
At the moment, video surveillance systems are installed on vehicles, including the subway, buses, electric trains. In addition, they are installed in shopping malls, offices, businesses, on the streets, in crowded places. Such a measure as the use of video surveillance systems greatly enhances the possibility of crime prevention, as well as facilitating the work of the investigation during the investigation of past offenses.
