At the moment there is a huge number of larch wood products on the market. Of course, the best materials are those made from natural components. Larch wood is often the only defensible and logical choice in this case. It combines not only high quality, but also durability, strength, and resistance to moisture, keeps warmth and comfort.
But let’s get right to the point, today we have a review on the felling of the type “duckwood” from larch.
Let’s start with the general characteristics. Stille board is a treated board. It used to be used to panel transport cars and that’s why it got such a peculiar name. In order to produce batten type “shtil” take only high-quality wood, treating it with special methods. Parts are fastened to each other with the help of grooves located at the ends. This ensures a perfectly even surface.
Where it is used? Larch veneer is used for finishing both residential and non-residential premises, inside and outside, and as a floor covering. Often it is taken just to increase the heat and sound-insulating characteristics. Also often larch battens are used to decorate gazebos, country houses, bath houses, swimming pools, in general, almost everywhere.
There are 4 categories of battens – “Stil”:
Extra. Only high quality wood is used. The surface is made smooth, without cracks and knots. This category is also often referred to as “eurowood”.
Class A. In this category, the minimum number of knots is allowed, but no more than 1/3.
Class B. There are many cracks and knots in this category, and initial quality requirements are not always high.
Class C. Low-grade, there are both knots and cracks along the entire board, and some small black elements.
Extra. Only high quality wood is used. The surface is made smooth, without cracks and knots. This category is also often referred to as “eurowoods”.Class C. Low-grade, there are both knots and cracks along the whole board, and some small black elements.
Class A. In this category, the minimum number of knots is allowed, but no more than 1/3.
